Composite decking screws in all the colors of the rainbow
I have a bipolar budget disorder that unpredictably swings from splurgy to stingy—I would spring for low-maintenance composite decking, for instance, but would then skimp on the hidden fastener system. I'd have a fancy new deck blemished with shiny stainless studs every few feet. And I'd regret it.
But that's a hypothetical scenario in which I don't know about Headcote's stainless steel decking screws with color coated heads. And in which I haven't seen their color guide chart, a table that matches whatever brand and shade of decking you've bought with the chromatically appropriate Headcote fastener.
If you have Trex's Burnished Amber Saddle, for instance, Headcote has a Cedar screw for you. TimberTech's Cedar? The chart calls for a Rosy Brown (not to be confused with Sand, Tan, or Buckskin, a few of Headcote's 15 other offerings).
To account for composite decking's inevitable fading, Headcote says they went with a slightly lighter shade than the board the screw's meant to match.
I want to know when they can make a screw that fades in time with the deck.
