New ways to hit nails, volume 3
July 5, 2007
An old carpenter's trick: you can get more leverage when pulling a nail by putting a block beneath your hammer head. Like I said, old.
But here's what's new: PennTek Tools has integrated the block right there in the head with a retractable peg. Twist the PowerPull's knurled cap, and pop goes the fulcrum. Gimmicky, sure, but the peg's rounded head gently rocks over workpiece without gouging it, and the hammer itself is well-balanced with one of those rubbery polymer handles that absorb shock and prevent slips.
This is the third installment in a series of unusual hammers I've recently seen. I'm always looking for more.

It's about time that a feature like this takes the guess work out of choosing which hammer to buy. A curved claw hammer that can pull out nails but cannot split boards apart or a rip hammer that can split boards but cannot pull out nails. This hammer can do both.
Thank you,
Tony Sleiman
Finally a hammer with leverage to get those hard to pull nails.
Thank you!

I've been working with many tools for a very long time, this is exactly what I have been looking for to complete my set. Leverage is a huge problem especially when working in tight spaces, and with a rip hammer because it doesn't have that curved claw.
Where do I Purchase this Hammer ???
You can find this hammer online at www.garrettwade.com or www.amazon.com!
