Rust rehab for an iron rail
November 19, 2007
I don't doubt that Ramon here knows what he's doing.
This iron railing is properly scraped and primed, the Rust-Oleum is at the ready, and a scrap of newspaper-as-dropcloth is protecting one stair, at least.
But those drips on the side of the can--that's a harbinger, Ramon. Working out of the gallon is a mess waiting to happen.
Might I suggest, instead, a Teflon-coated tray? Or perhaps a handy bucket screen?
Okay, enough armchair contracting. Here's how to refinish an iron rail yourself.
