Nail gun combo kit saves thumbs (and dough, too)
It wasn't long ago that pneumatic nailers were solely used by professional contractors. That's quickly changing as more and more do-it-yourselfers discover the benefits of using air power, not elbow grease, to drive nails.
One reason for this sudden shift is that many tool manufacturers now offer affordable, all-in-one pneumatic nailer kits specifically designed for weekend carpenters and woodworkers.
Case in point: The Husky Two-Nailer Combo Kit comes with a 16-gauge finishing nailer, 18-gauge brad nailer, 1.5-gallon compressor, 25-foot air hose, and 1,000 nails and 1,000 brads. Also included is a cleverly designed storage bag (RIGHT) that straps right onto the compressor for safely storing and transporting both nailers, nails and other gear.
The most exciting feature, however is the price. Read on.
The kit is just $179. If bought separately, these tools and accessories would cost over $420.
The Husky Two-Nailer Kit (Model H1502-CNK) is sold exclusively at the Home Depot; ask for SKU number 955-051. Here are some other critical specs:
The finishing nailer accepts nails ranging from 3/4-inch to 2-1/2 inches long. The brad nailer can fire brads ranging from 5/8-inch to 1-1/4-inch long.
The air compressor is powered by a 3/4-horsepower induction motor that delivers a maximum of 125 pounds per square inch of pressure. It has an oil-free pump for low-maintenance and long-life, and an easy-to-read dial gauge for adjusting the air pressure. I also like the fact that the compressor weighs just 33 pounds, making it easy to carry up and down stairs and in and out of rooms.
