Doing the Snow Scoop shoop
White little balls of frozen ice have been falling in New York these past two weeks, delighting the tourists in town to see the tree and disconcerting the rest of us residents with visions of having to dig out the walkway in the morning.
I've always wanted to be able to do that kind of project in one fell swoop, but the expense and lack of available storage makes getting a snowblower an impossible option.
But now I have a new option: the Snowscoop from Snowmaster.
In the same vein as the Wovel, the Snowscoop is a unique, wheeled, hand-powered snow remover. It's bright orange body is supposed to clear a 28-inch wide swath of wet, heavy snow 3 to 5 times faster than using a shovel would.
I have to admit the design (which seems more appropriate to go snow sledding in) has me wondering if I would even be able to use it (at 56-inches long, its actually taller than me when you stand it on its end).
The company assures, however, that the design of the 17-pound slab of polyethylene plastic is actually meant to relieve back strain and exertion.

I have used the Snowscoop at home for the past ten years. I use it to clear our driveway and sidewalk as well as our elderly neighbor's sidewalks. It is a great item but you still need to keep your snow shovel handy when the snow is wet and heavy. The Snowscoop may looks unwieldy, but it does take a strain off of your back.
Where do I buy one?
You can get one at AM Leonard.
Or order through Amazon from AM Leonard's catalog.
Right now it's 69.99.
They also have the Wovel snow shovel with wheels.
