Tool wreath looks festive, dangerous

December 18, 2007

If you don't mind dull, rusty edges, flaking paint, or antique grease, it's really quite festive.

Naturally, we're quite fond of the tool wreath, which hangs here at the TOH office.

I've posted an image of it in the spirit of the season, and also to explain the bit brace mentioned in my last post--for those of you that don't know, that U-shaped tool at 9 o'clock on the wreath is what your granddaddy would've used to drill holes.

Between rotating chucks, handgun-sized drills and sexy snub-nosed drivers, one could fear we've forgotten our hole-boring roots.

Well, granddaddy, we've still got the gimlet.
