Girard ratchet: Pull by finger
March 20, 2008
I think Toolmonger explained this odd finger-driven socket wrench quite well:
"When using a ratchet, sometimes the nut or bolt is loose enough that you can’t rotate the ratcheting mechanism, but tight enough that you can’t quite turn it by hand.
Some ratchets provide a little thumb wheel just for spinning the socket with your fingers — but Girard Development designed a more elegant solution: a ratchet with a finger spinner on the back."
I would love to have a similar feature on Stanley's new 99-piece all-black socket set, which I otherwise love. I'll praise it in more specific terms in an upcoming review.
