Stone Forest's new sleek sinks
I'm always in search of companies that incorporate stone into their products. It's a favorite material of mine and, when done well, cold slabs of rock can be turned into warm, timeless centerpieces. One company that hits this mark is Stone Forest. Just check out their new line of sinks and vanities.
I love the Bordeaux vanity above, which is expertly crafted out of a single block of Jerusalem Gold limestone. Also available in carrara marble, the basin sits atop traditional-looking console legs. Beautiful and practical, the horizontal connectors can double as towel bars.
If you want a more modern look, however, the curving Infinity pedestal sink in multi-colored onyx might be more your style. Also available in polished black granite and carrara marble, the oval column commands attention.
Another contemporary option is the patent-pending minimalistic Sync series. Available in carrara marble, honed basalt and onyx, the stones are melded with stainless steel to create modular pieces that you can arrange to your bathroom needs — whether its a small basin for narrow spots or a stretched out counter with space for two.
Of course, these kind of unique bath fixtures come at a price. The Bordeaux sinks range from $2200 to $2400, and their $1255 Palmer legs need to be bought separately. And while the Sync series sinks start around $1010, the Infinity columns range from a checkbook-hurting $4500 to a heart-stopping $6800 depending on your stone choice. But with proper maintenance and care, these built-to-last items should survive several generations of homeowners.
