Appliances not in stainless steel
After covering kitchens and baths for several years, I've seen more than my share of stainless steel. Though it certainly has its benefits, I can't help but wonder if it is the Avocado Green or Harvest Gold of the new millennium. Anyway, to spice things up, I've decide to post several kitchen appliances with interesting finishes that aren't stainless steel (or boring black or white either).
Dacor's Preference line (the 24-inch dishwasher is shown above) has full glass panels that float within its frame available in six colors: blue water, three shades of gray, slate green, and black. It includes everything from refrigeration to cooktops, so you can outfit your kitchen with matching appliances, and the tempered glass can be cleaned with standard glass cleaner.
Fagor's Black Art refrigerator has a special reflective finish that is sure to stand out. But I have to be completely honest; I saw this fridge at the Kitchen and Bath Show, and it was pretty much covered in fingerprints, so it certainly isn't the most family friendly.
Viking now offers its appliances in 24 different colors, including the burgundy shown.

I appreciate your frankness regarding the black art refrigerator.....it is good to know if it is family friendly or not. Sounds like it's not.
