Chilaxing, colonial style.
July 12, 2008
Until someone invents a time machine, you’ll never meet iconic historical figures, let alone invite the over for a garden party. But you can plop good ol’ Ben Franklin down in your yard and go old school. Really, really old school.
Utah-based sculptor Gary Lee Price’s work can be found in residential and public collections. One of Price’s collections celebrates worthy contributors to society in the fields like science, literature, government, and art. Here Ben Franklin relaxes, wearing the bifocals he invented, on a bench while his at hat rests on the corner. The full sized version of this sculpture weights 475 pounds and is 70-inches long. For $46,200, plus shipping.
