Green & glassy kitchen cabinets
According to German luxury kitchen cabinet manufacturer, Alno, about 32 million acres of forests are snuffed out each year due to such eco-travesties as illegal logging, insufficient forest management, and an increasing demand for, well, wood. That's why, instead of relying on these endangered forests for its cabinet veneers, Alno has come up with an alternative that's both eco-friendly and pretty darn stylish to boot.
The company's ALNOART WOODGLAS collection features a faux wood-grain veneer, which is applied directly via ink-jet onto glass cabinet fronts, with recycled aluminum frames. To achieve a modern, glassy look, Alno tops each door off with a non-toxic lacquer finish, making these cabinets as forest-friendly as can be.
