Rolling knee pads make floor work fun

As soon as we give up crawling on all fours like babies, getting around on hands and knees becomes a slow, uncomfortable pain in the patella. Nevertheless, we still go down on bended knee to finish floors, install baseboards, lay tile, and paint anything below waist level. The work goes slowly, prolonging the suffering even more. That's what inspired inventor Mark Legenstein to come up with Knee Blades, three-wheeling dollies for your knees. With these gel-padded devices strapped to your legs, you're liberated from having to constantly stand up to get things.

Just give yourself a push and glide across the floor on ball-bearing wheels to retrieve a paint can, a floor tile, or a piece of base cap. As Legenstein's on-line videos make clear, work proceeds without interruption, so more gets done in less time. Plus, if you have to move something heavy, put it on one of Knee Blades' unbreakable, yellow polycarbonate bases. Each one can support more than 300 pounds. And when you don't need to wheel around - on stairs, say - the gel pads pop out of the dolley bases and your knees stay well protected.  For $90, the price of a good pair of running shoes, you can start having fun again on floor, just like you did when you were a kid.
