Amazing green enzyme cleaner
My house has a finished basement that is partitioned into a catacomb of five rooms. One of them is carpeted, has a finished ceiling and serves as my office. The room on the far side of the basement is called the Serial-Killer room, so designated by my wife because the once-yellow walls are black with mold and covered with eerie red streaks. It looks like the perfect place to shoot a slasher movie. On occasion, water seeps through the foundation on that side of the house. It’s not a place I like to go. I’d probably permanently seal off the room and never go in there ever again, except for the fact that the electrical panels is in there, and I often go down and flip a breaker after someone forgets NOT TO USE THE TOASTER AND THE KITCHEN FAN at the same time. (Isn't old-house living fun?)
Last weekend I hauled all the moldering junk out of the S-K room and cleaned everything with an amazing enzymatic cleaner called SporiClean. The product was first developed for use in hospitals, but its value and efficacy really shined when it was used for mold mitigation in the gulf region after the hurricanes. The stuff works great.
According to the website, “SporiClean is an All Natural [Non-Chemical] Plant-Based Enzyme Cleaner that penetrates, dislodges, and digests organic dirt and debris, and breaks apart and degrades mold, bacteria and viruses from all washable surfaces! We clean for hygienic "healthful" purposes and surpass all known chemical cleaners to date!”
Skeptical New Englander that I am, I figured this was all advertising bunk. I changed my mind after I tried the product.
During a previous attempt, I’d tried to scrub the mold off my basement walls with a bleach solution, but the fumes soon got to be too much to take in the closed in space and I abandoned the project. SporiClean has a barely detectable citrus odor. Spray it on any moldy area, agitate with a scrub brush, then just wait. Die mold, die! After five minutes, rinse the area with water. Mold, dirty, crud—all gone. The stuff works so much better than I could have imagined.
After spending some time on the SporiClean website and seeing first hand the success I had in the basement, I went around the house spritzing with my spray bottle of the product. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not some kind of clean freak, but I was amazed every time I used it. The scrungy drain basket in the kitchen sink, the green slightly mossy shingle siding on the north side of the house, the black-with-mildew propane tank were NO MATCH FOR THE POWER OF ENZYMES!
Nick Martello is the CEO of U.S. Biologics, the company that makes SporiClean. The man knows his enzymes. It seems that the uses for the product are boundless. He sent me a report about the efficacy of SporiClean in combating bedbugs. Though those hungry enzymes will attack anything! I told him about the carpenter ants in my porch posts and half-jokingly asked if SporiClean would get rid of them. He replied, “Yes! The [ants’] exoskeleton is comprised of "protein matter" and our "Protease Enzymes" will in fact degrade this coating along with disrupting the "breathing function" which the exoskeleton supports. Without the proper oxygen flow to support life... life will cease.” My guess is that lots of old-house problems will cease if you arm yourself with this wonderful product. You can order it from the website, concentrate or a sample bottle. Get some today.

I used SporiClean to "eat up" some yellow fungus growing in my backyard on mulch areas. Zappo --- gone. Next up, I understand I can use SporiClean to get rid of fleas, so both my dogs are up for baths later today!
I originally used Sporiclean for some mold under the seat of my car, but have moved on to everything around the house including pet stains, kitchens, laundry, and bathroom. There is nothing that it will not work on.
It also works great on bed bugs and their eggs. Also your rings and gold even stays cleaner longer AND NO CHEMICALS
I have removed all of the "chemical" cleaners from my house and replaced them with SporiCLEAN.(With the exception of Dawn and Windex)Works great as a car wash in a one ounce dilution per gallon. My cars have never been shinier.
I have used sporiclean to clean our cats litter-box and any urine over-spray. I can't begin to tell you how quickly and completely the odors are removed along with the urine stains. I spray the litter too and it eliminates any lingering odors. I have cleaned my counter-tops and appliances with excellent results. This is a very safe and very good cleaning product.
I have a liitle dog named Brownie and she loves to run thru the grass. One of the problems with that is she collects fleas along the way. I would use all kinds of pet shampoos and fleas to help with this, but nothing work. I gave her a bath one day using only Sporiclean and not only did it get rid of the fleas, but instead of just removing them they fell off right in front of me and died. This not only worked on my dog, but on my living room furniture and rug!
I have an old bedroom set from the 50's. The mirror that came with it, has needed to be reglazed for YEARS!..... not anymore..
After 1 wash with Sporiclean, the black that surrounded the mirror has disappeared. Also, the furniture looks "almost new". My furniture now is ageless!
I used it to clean Mold off my Vinly Siding.great job my House looks New.
I would recommend getting rid of wall-to-wall carpets anywhere in the house. They are not good for computers (static) and they are certainly not healthy.
When my children were younger we kept all household chemicals in the backyard for fear of the fumes and to prevent the little buggers from getting under the sink and drinking them. I don't have that fear with sporiclean.
I will be writing a blog post on sporiclean in the coming days and I'll make sure to link to this review.
As a chemically sensitive person I am forever skeptical of any and all cleaning products. I recently received a gift from a fellow chemical sensitive and was absolutely astounded with the effects and results of SporiClean! It has a very subtle scent of natural lemon and that essence dissipates rather quickly. I have not had any reaction physically and I can't believe the versatility of one cost effective "Green" product for meeting all my current needs. I have washed my pets with it and it destroyed the fleas and left their coats fresh and itch free. From the kitchen, to the bath and even in my laundry this product has been tried and proves true to its claims of being a special product to meet all my environmental needs and uses. It has been a very long and trying few years with different product claims and their actual chemical contents so I am very excited and thankful for such a wonderful, effective, and truly environmental product! It's about time. Keep up the great job!
I used SporiClean on my mold encrusted cooter and it cleaned it up immediately! Even the bugs died! It was just in time for my date on Saturday night. Thank you SporiClean!
I went to the site to purchase SporiGreen today and they have posted a notice that as of 26 June, 2009, they have been ordered by EPA to stop selling SporiGreen because they were considered an "unregistered" pesticide, even though the ingredients are all Generally Regarded As Safe! This is ridiculous! There are so many bio-hazards that go completely unchecked by EPA ... I guess those other companies are paying more to our "guardians" than US Biologics. I continue to be appalled at the Republicans protecting corporations instead of protecting people!
