ANSWER: A laser level
The LaserBall 360 by Zircon is only as big as a tennis ball, but it can be a huge help when hanging picture frames, shelves, and cabinets. Sit the laser level in the non-marring, self-adhesive mounting cup and spin it to create a vertical or horizontal laser line on the wall.
The Zircon LaserBall 360 retails for around $20, but I found it for $16 online.
