wolf appliance on recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Wolf Appliances have announced a recall on 24,000 Wolf Appliance gas ranges due to a delayed ignition of gas in the 18-inch oven that can cause a flash of flames to be projected at a consumer when the range door is opened, posing a burn hazard. Wolf has received reports of 97 faulty units and 15 minor burns; there have been no fires  or property damage. The recall involves 48-inch gas ranges with model numbers P48, PS48, and R48. The gas ranges are stainless steel with a double oven and were sold at home builders and appliances stores nationwide from January 1998 through June 2008 for between $5,000 and $9,000. If you own one of the recalled ranges, immediately stop using the 18-inch oven and contact Wolf at 866-643-6408 to schedule a free, in-home repair.
