Leak Detector

January 30, 2009

The LeakFrog beeps loudly when it detects a leaking pipe, toilet, or water heater.

Every year or so, the big sink in our laundry room overflows when the drain clogs from all the lint and girlhair (I'm bald.) that empties in there from the washing machine spin cycle. I try to remember to clean the drain, but try as I might, there are some things that don't get maintained and only get tended to after they've started to leak, squeak or otherwise break. The silly looking, battery-operated Leak Frog lets me know when the sink overflows, and I can run down there and deal with the mess before the water goes everywhere. The Frogs beep loudly when they detect water, and they are inexpensive enough so that you could put one under every sink and next to your water heater.

Leak Frogs are invaluable. They've saved many people I know (including myself) from having small basement problems become big basement problems.

Plus they're just kinda fun!
