Live from the International Builders’ Show: Delta Shows Off Its Touch-Operated Faucet Technology

January 20, 2009

Technology often gives us things we never knew we needed.  That is the case with Delta’s new Pilar touch-activated kitchen faucet.  It makes perfect sense and reminded me of all the times in the kitchen with messy hands trying to manipulate the handle to turn on the water.

The Pilar with Touch2O technology features a traditional on/off lever for selecting hot or cold and water flow. You can also simply touch the faucet (forearm, wrist, back of hand) and it turns the water on/off.  The system can either be battery operated or hard wired, and knows the difference between a grasp and a touch. That way you don’t unintentionally spray the counter or yourself when you turn the faucet or grab the integrated wand.

The Pilar faucet with Touch2O technology is available in three finishes and is priced from $525.
