Magnetic Mini Maglite holder

January 16, 2009

A magnetic holder for a mini Maglite clams to all iron surfaces.

I used to think my mouth was my third hand, especially when it comes to flashlights. I don't know how many times of for how long I've held a flashlight in my mouth while doing something in the dark with my other two hands. Probably not long enough to short out the batteries from the salvia that drips from my mouth but definitely long enough to make my jaws ache. My favorite flashlight is the Mini Maglite that holds two AA batteries, has a place in the end cap for a spare bulb, and is waterproof. (I've dropped mine in several late-night trout rivers.) My favorite Mini-Maglite attachment is this magnetic holder from Snap-on. It's high quality, infallible, and expensive--like all the company's products. And if you're not working where there is a handy iron surface, you can always hold the flashlight in your mouth, but not for too long.

I prefer the smaller headband lights, such as those made by Energizer. Extremely hand when working under the sink or in the crawlspace.
