Lamp made from fiber optic strands

This most unusual pendant light, which resembles a full moon, is called the LaLuna Lamp. It was designed by German artist Steffen Bauer for Crescent Lighting.

The illuminated sphere is hand-spun from super-thin fiber optic strands that radiate light, creating the soft-glowing, delicate fixture.

The lamp connects to a single 100-watt tungsten halogen light source (that's equipped with an adjustable color wheel) or to an LED color-changing projector.

And, you can connect up to a dozen LaLuna lamps to one light source. Can you imagine what that would look like?

Lamp shines in different colors The LaLuna Lamp glows in four different colors (white, blue, green and gold), and comes in two sizes (15 1/2 and 23 1/2 in. dia.). Prices range from about $1,000 to $1,200.

Really amazing effect!!! Is each one spun a little different or all alike? I only wish they were a bit less expensive.
