If you build it
I’m a big little kid—drawn to colorful things that flip and flop. And if something can be stacked in a sculptural way, well that’s even better.
Enter The K Block. Introduced to me by my cousin, who bought a bunch for her kids’ playroom, these puzzle piece-like objects serve-up seating, and can be transformed into tables or room dividers, too. All you need are some basic motor skills and an imagination, and voila. You’ve got yourself a lounger, a coffee table, a bookshelf, and whatever else you can dream up. Best yet, these puppies are made of plastic, suitable for both indoors and out, and are strong enough to hold the weight of big and little kids alike.
Though one block will run you $399, their versatility and durable
design are well worth the price, I think. And with colors like lime
green and red orange to choose from (they’re available in white and can
be ordered in custom colors, too), they’re a fun resolution for many
furniture dilemmas.
I do need an ottoman for my deck. Hmmmm...

That's a neat design, but the price is sheer lunacy.
