More gardenless vegetable gardening with Salad and Herb Planting Bags

June 24, 2009

38-181 If you want to grow more than just tomatoes and potatoes, and are low on yard space, consider these planting bags. The gardens-on-the-go can be moved to accommodate the needs of the plant, and the ever-changing configurations of your small space.

The bags are made of polypropylene fabric and fold flat for off-season storage. They feature reinforced handles and seams, and drainage perforations. Garden Bags are available in two sizes: one for salad planting (about $20, shown) and  the other for herb planting (about $15).

If you're worried that your need to save space with a gardenless vegetable garden will stifle the root growth of your greens, don't. The weather-proof bags are deep enough to ensure healthy root development. A tray is sold separately for additional support and to protect your deck or other outdoor surface from drained water.

Great idea, but some necessary information left out. What size are the bags and how many for the price. If just one - WAY too expensive.

I'm not sure if it is the exact same product, but Gardener's Supply carries this type of grow bag. Check out www.gardeners.com. I've ordered other products from them and found the overall quality and value very good.
