Charge your cell phone with solar power on the go
Even though you charge your phone religiously every night, sometimes after a day spent using it to choose wall colors and complete carpentry tasks, your phone goes kaput just when you need it to look up a shopping list at The Home Depot for a project you saw on ThisOldHouse.com. Well the Powcell, which is soon to hit stores here in the U.S, may save you.
The Powcell sleeve is a new device that fits over your iPhone 3G (and soon Blackberry Curve) that charges through the use of solar energy as well as most ambient light. In fact, with it, you may never have to plug in again. The Powcell is already being sold in England and will be available in the U.S. in the next few months and will cost about $90. Starting small and using solar power for cellphones and electronic devices may eventually lead to bigger and better uses of solar power.
