Revealing Revel wine cellars

Now, I'm not much of a wine connoisseur myself, but I can appreciate when good design turns out something that is practical, eco-friendly and, well, pretty. So I figured I'd share the 411 on these wine storage systems from Revel Custom Wine Cellars for anyone who might be interested.

Using dowels to make open-bottom trays and Lazy Susans, the company's patented design allows homeowners to easily see labels – even those on bottles stacked up above eye level. It also uses less wood than more traditional diamond-patterned cubbies, and gives normally dense looking cellars a lighter and airier feel. That freer flow of air also helps with the aging of your vino, according to the company. Now what's not to like about all that?

I went to an auction last week and the guy had a wine cellar, not this nice. He had died and the family was selling everything, including the wine collection. I just thought it was so sad, all that wine he never got to taste.
