TOH AppWatch: Aquariform's PaintSwatches
July 8, 2009
I haven’t kicked the tires on this one yet, but an app similar to one I wished for in my last app post has come to fruition. With Paint Swatches, you’ll get a workspace for creating and saving custom color palettes, and you can match the shades you like to paint colors offered by various manufacturers. Meaning, you can easily find the companies that make the colors you like -- then buy the brand you like best. There’s also a note-taking function so you can remember which color palette was for, say, the dining room versus your bedroom. Anyone out there try this yet? Seems great.

I need to repaint my finished basement (new sheetrock - water damaged from a broken fridge line upstairs). Since the nearest store is a 15 minute drive I checked out what the App store had for "paint" and came across PaintSwatches. Now I have 5 different projects for the basement; Basement Blue, Basement Neutral, Basement Chocolate, etc... each with a palette full of potential main, trim, and accent colors in the scheme I am experimenting with. (We went with "Basement Blue"). My husband suggested I put in the notes: date I bought the paint, how many gallons, how much it cost, etc... so we have a record which I can e-mail to myself. Very cool program! Saved me lots of time and was a lot of fun to play with. Well worth $2!
Sounds too good to be true..Not tried it yet but for $2.00 you better believe I will. No more running around and feeling insecure about color selection.. Congratulations to the genious who put this together, Should be called less work for everyone.
