The Stanley FatMax Lock & Stock Organizer meets the parents

One thing I've learned from my father, bless his heart, is that not being able to put your hand on the thing you need when you need it can be frustrating not only to the handy person, but to anyone near enough to get sucked into the hours-long search. To him, though, organization was for wimps and a job just isn't a job unless you've searched at least an hour for something you can't finish the job without.

So you can imagine how his first meeting with my Lock & Stock Organizer went: He was resistant, at first, but after about a few dozen instances of being saved by my stash (right before that inevitable trip to the hardware store for another replacement), he came around. Here's why we love this thing.

The mobile organization unit comes with 6 sub-units that lock into place, but can be easily removed if needed. The steel chassis with trolley system crazy durable and easy to move. The thing can also be transformed into a workstation; the lid flips over to provide a steady surface with "V" groove track to keep anything you're cutting steady, up to 10 pounds. The top compartments hold small parts and hand tools, while the larger bottom compartments can house power tools.

Lock & Stock Organizer with Stock & Carry containers; about $100. (Additional, interchangeable Stock & Carry containers sold separately.)
