No-leak, no-excuse skylight--guaranteed

There's no better, more effective way to brighten up a home than with skylights: They flood the interior with natural light, and make even the smallest, darkest spaces seem spacious and airy.

With all that skylights have to offer, you'd think they'd be installed in every home, but they're not and here's why: Many homeowners--and builders, too--think that all skylights leak

And whether that's perception or reality, it doesn't much matter. The fact is that some people, as much as they love skylights, shy away from them. But thanks to Velux, that's all about to change.

After more than three years of exhaustive research and testing, Velux has completed redesigned its entire line of deck-mounted skylights, and as a result, the company just introduced the world's first No-Leak Skylight.

That's right. If installed as outlined in the Velux installation manual, the no-leak skylight carries a 10-year installation warranty. And the warranty is valid whether or not the skylight is installed by a certified Velux contractor. As long as the unit is properly installed, Velux will stand behind its warranty.

This newly designed deck-mounted skylight features three layers of water-stop protection: 1) Deck Seal, a factory-attached metal mounting flange that's fitted with a closed-cell foam gasket, 2) a peel-and-stick waterproof underlayment, and 3) engineered metal flashing that provides primary water protection.

To make the installation even more foolproof, the skylight comes with everything you need to ensure a proper, no-leak installation.

The skylight also features Low-E energy-efficient glass and prefinished white frames and sash; not pre-primed, but prefinished, saving you the trouble of having to paint.

And if all that weren't enough, Velux extends the warranty to 20 years on the glass, 10 years on the product itself, and five years on blinds and controls.
