Try out your virtual D.I.Y skills

If Santa didn't bring you one of those cool virtual home-building Wii games, like "Our House: Party!" (which we featured in the magazine's December 2009 gift guide), don't fret. You can still get your gaming fix online with the FREE-to-play "House Flip" from Shockwave. Now, while it technically promotes a practice that we at TOH don't necessarily advocate ("flipping"), it does also give you the chance to virtually try out your D.I.Y savvy with everything from budgeting to installing flooring. There are too-short time constraints, far-too-easy to drop glass panes and dirty drywall to clean. But if you get it right, you get some big "bucks" from potential sellers. It's kind of fun to see if you make the right choices.
