DIY wall murals: Find your inner Michelangelo

February 2, 2010

Diamond-pattern
Tired of living with boring, plain-painted walls? Then consider decorating your home with hand-painted wall murals; murals that you paint yourself.

I know what you're thinking, but it doesn't matter if you can't draw a straight line with a ruler, or possess as much artistic talent as a Hilton sister.

With a traceable wall design by Trace Designs, anyone can create beautiful, professional-quality murals in no time at all. Just trace the pattern onto the wall, then paint it.

Transfer Each wall mural kit includes transfer paper, wall design, and practice copies for choosing paint colors. Simply tape the transfer paper to the wall, tape the design over the transfer paper, and then use a ball-point pen to draw along the lines. Remove both sheets, and paint between the lines. It's that easy.

Martian Trace Designs currently offers 70 different traceable wall designs, which cost on average about $50 per kit, not including paint. Many of the designs are ideal for kids' rooms.

If you'd like the chance to win a free wall mural kit, go to Trace Design's Free Giveaway page on its website.

All entries must be submitted by midnight Friday, February 12, 2010. One lucky winner will be randomly chosen by a representative at Trace Designs. The winner will be notified on or before February 19, 2010. Good luck!

This is a great way to customize a room on a budget - and it seems pretty easy to do. I'm definitely gonna go check out that site:)

Hi DiggersList, You're right, this isn't only an affordable decorating idea, it's also very easy--even for the unartistic. And I forgot to mention that the traceable templates are reusable. Thanks for writing.--JT
