Thisoldhouse.com is in the process of updating an outdated Plant Hardiness Zone Map. The Arbor Day Foundation's excellent website, arborday.org, is helping us along. Imagine our surprise when we realized that we had unlocked a veritable treasure trove of information and resources. Here are our favorite features

- Become a member ($10 for 6-months) of the Arbor Day Foundation and get 10 free trees sent to you at the best time for planting in your area. You can also opt to Plant 10 Trees in our Nation's Forests

- See suggested trees for your region, and buy them directly from the ADF Tree Store: Order any amount of trees for a flat shipping rate of $5.95

- See the changes in the Hardiness Zone Map since 1990, thanks to new National Climatic Data. Seriously interesting stuff

- Learn about visiting the Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska for a Tree Adventure. Must-do: Climb the 50-foot-high tree house!
