Combat icky bathroom mold with GTR's DewStop
Hot showers are great, but bathroom mold loves steam just as much as you do. Maybe even more. Truth is, without proper ventilation, the condensation from your long, relaxing showers can ultimately lead to mold growth. According to the New York State Department of Health, the presence of mold can explain respiratory problems and severe allergies. Mold can also cause costly damage to your home.
Fight the no-fun fungus with the DewStop Fan Switch by GTR Technologies. Here's how it works: When the humidity and dew point hit a certain level, the DewStop turns your fan on to wick away wetness. The switch’s steam-fighting software can easily be installed to most existing bath vent fans. And, since the switch automatically turns your fan on when it's needed, it'll take the guesswork out of things for you, while possibly saving you some energy. The DewStop Fan Switch is available at dewstop.com for $59. A fan/light combination switch sells for $69.

One effective way to combat mold problems is by the use of desiccants like Silica Gel. These are the same small sachets you find in packaging of various products like electronics, garments, etc.
Silica Gel works by absorbing the moisture in its surrounding area. For most mold challenges, it does the job pretty well. Small sachets cost less than a dollar. It truly is a cost effective way of protection from moisture.
There is a lot more information on our website at www.SilicaGel.net
Silica gel is NOT going to work in a bathroom.
- it can't hold that much moisture
- it is always 'on' so it gets used up slowly even if you never make it humid
- you have to cook it in an oven to recharge it
This fan controller is a great idea if it works when it should.
I bought one with the light/fan combination. Absolutely love how it works - the little lady never remembers to turn on the fan. Only thing I do not like is the position of the fan switch - should be in the middle not at the bottom - gonna switch the wires to change it - fan is below the max amperage.
Bottom line - GREAT product! I have recommended it to a couple of my buddies already!
